Look Ma, No Maw!
This facial portrait shows something very interesting: bot flies have not mouths! Their amazingly speedy flight is fueled entirely by burning fat reserves accrued in the larval stage. The adult flies live very fast, very short lives and are seldom seen. Great images of a very unique insect:-)
