Could this be Agonopterix hyperella 0856?
The closest match I've been able to find is Tom Murray's Unidentified Nites spp. 0946.97 on MPG.
It looks like that one was ID'd as Agonopterix hyperella here on BugGuide.
To my untrained eye the forewing markings look very similar to my photo.

No, This Photo and Tom's are Most Likely Nites....
None of them agree with the specimen photo or description given by Hodges in MONA Fascicle 6.2.

Thanks for your speedy response.
And thanks for setting me straight once again. I'll just wait and see what the experts decide on this specimen.

Possibly 0867 - Agonopterix pulvipennela....
... looks very much like a browner specimen that I found in the collection at Mississippi Entomological Museum last summer. But it also looks like Tom Murray's photo of an unidentified Nites spp., shown at 0946.97 at MPG and also somewhere here in the Guide.

It certainly does
look like Tom Murray's unid. Nites spp. at 0946.97, at least to my untrained eye.
I guess it could be Agonopterix pulvipennella, but the overall ground color of the upper wing surface doesn't seem to match, and I don't see the contrasting pale band in the "shoulder" area that I've seen in most images of A. pulvipennella.
Also, the small white spot just below the dark blotch midwing usually seen on pulvipennella isn't visible.

Thanks again Bob for your helpful comments.
