Metallic wood-boring beetle - Chrysobothris

Metallic wood-boring beetle - Chrysobothris
Athens, Clarke County, Georgia, USA
Size: 7 mm
I discovered this beautiful little dead beetle while cleaning out my husband's car; I assume it had probably been there for months if not years. Does anyone recognize the species? I think it resembles this one , but we're a long way from California. Then again, we bought the car used, so who knows where it's been? I did keep the specimen since it was already deceased.

A better pic would be a great help, this looks pretty interesting. Doesn't seem like a Chrysobothris in any case, though I can't say for sure.

New photos added...
They're still a bit rough on account of having been shot through a (scuffed up) magnifying glass. The punctate texture of the beetle is now visible, which I think is neat because it looks smooth to the naked eye.

A better pic
is still desired, but I'll put my money on Chrysobothris azurea LeConte.

I would bet that it is something from the local fauna in Georgia. Both Chrysobothris azurea and chlorocephala occur in the state and I'm not sure you could separate them from these pictures.

I agree with Dennis that this
I agree with Dennis that this could be either C. azurea or C. chlorocephala. Leaning toward C. chlorocephala but again can't be totally sure from the pic.

Could this be Knowltonia?
