Found this little sucker on top of my dog's thick winter coat. As an ACA Outdoor Living Skills (OLS) instructor, I use the deer tick as a major reason for always wearing headgear in the woods.

They continue to gross me out.
Nothing like finding a tick on your neck a day after hiking. Ugh! The only other thing that's frightened me on the trail was a rabid gopher.

OMG
Your well baited lure has hooked me. You must finish the story of the rabid gopher.

The gopher's tale (tail?) unfolds...
I'm on a trail at a local semi-wilderness park. Something rustles in the grass, then gets on the path. It's a staggering, slobbering gopher. (Slobber is white, I note.) I stumble backwards in an attempt to capture Hot Gopher Action. A mountain biker comes on the scene and stops to laugh heartily. Gopher exits, as I congratulate myself for my courageous stand. Film at eleven.

LMAO
I can't help think of Carl Spackler (Bill Murray) in Caddyshack. Ron, you are a true ad man.
