Shield bug - Banasa dimidiata

Shield bug - Banasa dimidiata
Monrovia, Los Angeles County, California, USA
September 28, 2008
Size: 1/2 inch
This bug was found on a lemon mint plant. I think it belongs to the piedozorus class, but I'd like to be sure. And also if someone could identify the species...

Banasa dimidiata

Banasa sp.

Moved from True Bugs.

check Banasa dimiata [not sure though]
there's no such thing as 'piedozorus class,' all the insects are in the same class; i guess you meant 'P i e z o d o r u s, which is a genus in the stink bug family (Pentatomidae), but yours is a diff. member of that family.

Stink bug
I apologize for my ignorant mistakes. Shame on me!
So if this bug is not a piezodorus, do you know what it is?

Thank you for your comment
