Stratiomyidae - Odontomyia cincta - female

Stratiomyidae - Odontomyia cincta - Female
Wheatley Provincial Park, Ontario, Canada
June 27, 2008
Can anyone identify this stratiomyid?

Check out Odontomyia
I believe that's right, but it's more of a guess than an ID, and I'm certainly not an expert. When you're checking these out, look at the thorax first. (One other genus has a hairy thorax, another has a patterned thorax.) Next would be abdomen markings. Good hunting!

This may be it. If nothing else, it's a fun post to look at.
