I didn't think this pic would make it to species. I'm still having trouble capturing sufficient detail in the small things.

Temnothorax longispinosus - worker

Tom didn't get the genus, but was very close. Besides size, main differences are antennal segments number (not easy to assess on this one pic), shinier cuticle, rounder head and very long propodeal spines - to which the species owes its name.

I think you're right

I didn't venture to a species level ID two years ago, but "your" worker can confidently be attributed to this species too.

Could very well be.

This one is much smaller - maybe a different caste, or species. Thanks for the suggestion, I think you got the genus.
