Probably Not Acrolophus morus, due to the....
....date. Check to see if the specimen database you consulted includes collection dates and size information. In Maryland the flight season for A. morus is approximately 1-21 October (there are several fall-season Acrolophids). At this time of the year the most likely pink/red Acrolophid is 0372 - A. plumifrontella, but the size that you indicate might be too small for that species. I'm collecting as many live photos of Acrolophids as possible for a special page in the "difficult moths to identify" series at MPG. Thanks
The NCSU Collection lists 7 species of
Acrolophus
found in NC. I did some searching on Google Images and
A. morus
looks like it could be a possibility.
