Found inside of a Tree Swallow box (on a poplar) at Freshkills Park, NYC. Species associated with poplar in native range. Sequencing came back 95-98% match for D. mucidus (three specimens).

ID updated + Sequencing results
Updated to D. mucidus. Sequencing for three specimens came back 95-98% match for mucidus. Thanks, everyone!!

Moved from Dorytomus.

how was the id obtained? please elaborate
are there any New World records of longimanus? please cite.
this thing doesn't look like longimanus to me, or to R.S. Anderson (pers.comm.), but is not inconsistent with D. mucidus, a very common native weevil

Moved from Beetles.

Rick Hoebeke agrees this is probably D. mucidus
