Diabrotica virgifera (Western Corn Rootworm)
This is Diabrotica indeed, not Acalymma. The third antennal segment is much longer than the second in Acalymma and it has elytral ridges with punctures. This is the western corn rootworm: Diabrotica virgifera
These beetles have the same colouration as some other Chrysomelids like Acalymma, Disonycha and Lema all saying to a potential predator: donĀ“t eat me, I taste bad
