Other adults were found in/on salt water in the shoreline drift. The small tan sphere in front of the head is a Brine Shrimp egg.

I looked more closely at the antennae. They are many-segmented, which combined with habitat rules out anything but Tanypodinae.

Closer view?
This shows some attributes of a freshly emerged Tanypus (Apelopia). Do you have a closer shot of the head, thorax, and/or wings? The faint double row of spots after the larger brown spot on the wing could be very light versions of a distinctive feature of the genus. The pale bump on the thorax would indicate subgenus.

T. nubifer is salt tolerant and was originally described from Salt Lake, Utah.
