Leafmine Parasitoid

Leafmine Parasitoid
Woodbury, Litchfield County, Connecticut, USA
July 30, 2025
On 7/27/25, I collected a leafmine (on Quercus) to rear. On 7/30/25, 3 days after collecting the mine, I noticed 2 tiny (~1mm) parasitoid wasps (family Eulophidae, I think) in the vial. Upon inspecting the leafmine, I noticed 2 exit holes, one of which still had a wasp struggling to get through. After several hours with no progress, I peeled back the mine in the area of the exiting wasp to find what looked like 2 more wasps inside, or else maybe it was just debris from the host?
