Flower Longhorn - Anastrangalia sanguinea

Flower Longhorn - Anastrangalia sanguinea
southwest of Golden, Jefferson County, Colorado, USA

I agree with V...
...Anastrangalia sanguinea is a common western species, while Brachyleptura circumdata is restricted to the eastern U.S. Casey (1913) did describe B. subquadrata (now a synonym of B. circumdata) from Colorado, but Dan Heffern (1998) regarded that locality as questionable.

Brachyleptura circumdata?
This beetle has weekly divergent black elytral tips that according to Yanega I would id as Brachyleptura circumdata but maybe there are other species in Colorado not covered in his guide?

Looks good
just like the other pictures on the guide page. Thanks, Frank.

i like Anastrangalia sanguinea much better for this one
will ask Ted MacRae to check
