I showed your images to Dr. Evert Schlinger, who identified it as a new species that he has been in the process of describing for a while now.

Nice images!

"sierra nevada" species
Chris, thanks for showing them to Dr. Schlinger.

Is this the "Sierra Nevada" species already in the guide? Those look more blue-green as opposed to all the gold on this fellow. Individual color variation?

If Dr. Schlinger needs any more specimens, or needs any from the Puget Sound area of Washington, let me know. We get LOTS around our yard.

.
Ev was saying there are many species in this group all from the NW, the "sierra nevada" species in all probability are different from this one.

Too many specimens can never hurt. While Dr. Schlinger has extensive Acrocerid collections from the NW, nothing wrong with some more. Send me an e-mail if you'd like.
