Ready to move -
to guide page, but confused by the comment "They are different beetles". Are these two linked images of the same individual beetle? Same species? If they aren't the same beetle, they should be unlinked...

Geez!
The two spotted ladybugs aren't even under a single genus...That's terrible. I didn't get any underside shots, thanks for the info.

Chilocorus kuwanae
This appears to be
Chilocorus kuwanae
, and only the second one in the Guide. Strong flare on the lateral margin of elytra rules out
Hyperaspis
sp. And the rectangular spots say
C. kuwanae
, vice the more rounded spots of the native
Chilocorus
. See comments under
No underside shots required :) Nice find!

Uh, actually, I think there's a third.
The Asian import comes in a wealth of colors and patterns, including one like this.
Oh, some idea of size can help. Was this sort of "ladybug average", or very tiny?

Amazing!
I didn't take measurements but it was tiny, a lot smaller than the a Seven Spotted Lady Beetle.

I believe one of the keys to
I believe one of the keys to determining species level with these little guys is a shot of the underside.., but best of luck!
