Leafhopper nymph - Erronus montanus - female

Leafhopper nymph - Erronus montanus - Female
Golden, Jefferson County, Colorado, USA
July 9, 2005
This was on the same plant as my previous picture of the dark one with the red side. Probably a nymph of that species.

Errhomus montanus
All the females of this genus are flightless, while males have long wings like most leafhoppers. This Colorado species occurs later in the year than other members of the genus, which are exclusively spring insects.
