Peponapis pruinosa

Peponapis pruinosa
Center For Land Based Learning Farm at Putah Creek, Yolo County, California, USA
June 17, 2008
Size: 1cm +/-
This is the best image I could get and there happened to be a friend/competitor in the photo too. I think this is a Peponapis but am not sure. Any help or confirmation would be much appreciated. :)

probably Peponapis pruinosa
not Diadasia

Peponapis it is
Thank you Dr. Ascher. I will edit it to be Peponapis pruinosa. I notice in the information it lists its range as Arizona, Utah and eastward. Since this was collected in the Central Valley of California I wonder if it fits or if I read it incorrectly. What do you all think?

Might this be a large squash bee (Xenoglossa)?
Range is right, but I have no idea on how to tell them apart.

Don't know the bee, but its buddy is the spotted cucumber beetle

Friend found
Thanks for the id on the beetle! :)

Bee.
Spelling is Peponapis, but I believe this one is a female in the genus Diadasia. Do wait for John Ascher to comment (though there might not be enough detail visible to get an ID beyond family level).

Another spelling bee. LOL!
Jeff, based on his ID of your other bee, I'd guess that Dr. Ascher has passed on this one without comment. Here's hoping he hasn't.

Thank you!
I really appreciate your help and patience. I will have to temper my enthusiasm to post with more considerate editing. Thanks again for your kind support. :)
