Dermestid beetle - Dermestes ater

Dermestid beetle - Dermestes ater
Life history set of images
Incredible! After only 6 days, the pupa hatched into this rather drab looking adult. I was expecting it to look like the ones I have seen in the past, which were mottled and spotted looking. Different species I guess

Can this be Identified to species now? Additional shots can be provided if necessary

Moved
Moved from Carpet Beetles.

pls provide:
a good habitus shot + antennal closeup + size data

Size..
The size is just under 1 Cm

Will add more images, hope they help more

thanks --
pls fill the size field, measure in mm (conventional practice), rather than give size in a comment -- since you have the specimen anyway
and pls don't forget size whenever you post beetle images
by the way, this is Dermestes ater DeGeer, 1774

Great
Thanks for the ID and tips

I've been meaning to get a good ruler for insect measurements; the one I have now is really just a child's ruler and meant for measuring in inches

Measuring tapes
The nurse at my doctor's office gave me a handful of measuring tapes (in millimeters and about 10 cm. long). I always carry one with my camera equipment to take measures in the field.
And don't forget to remove the date and location if the beetle came from somewhere else; just mention them in the text, though.
