I checked the
literature this morning. It was described from 8 specimens from North Carolina reared from hickory; Barron saw three other specimens, one of which was reared from Vachellia, an acacia-like shrub, in Texas.

Barron only saw
four specimens (from Texas and North Carolina)when he revised the family. This one is from a series of about a dozen that emerged from oak twigs. I suspect they were preying on bark beetles, perhaps Hypothenemus, which are common in twigs. The presence of suitable prey is probably more important than the kind of tree.
