I know its beat up (sweep net sample just sorted from last year) but I think it looks "distinctive".

great find!
a very rare fly, I've only seen maybe 3 or 4 specimens, all collected many years ago. I would love to collect one. is this the only one you've ever gotten? I would appreciate any more info on the circumstances in which it was collected.
