Osmia ribifloris - male

Osmia ribifloris - Male
Sierra Vista, Cochise County, Arizona, USA
January 17, 2009
Size: 10 mm
Third of three individuals photographed. They were coming to flowers at a Point Leaf Manzanita, Arctostaphylos pungens. Dozens of these bees were present. Lower oak zone. The flowers have holes in them, not sure what made them.

Thank you, John !
Appreciate the many IDs that you've provided.

Not halictid.
This is a male mason bee, family Megachilidae, probably Osmia for the genus. Many Osmia are metallic. Maybe most of them.

Appreciate the ID !!
Wondering what main characters from the couple photos I posted that point to Osmia.
