Robber Fly - Diogmites neoternatus

Robber Fly - Diogmites neoternatus
Stafford, Stafford County, Virginia, USA
July 19, 2005
Found in morning along edge of thick vegetation near water. I am stumped. I have looked at so many images that it started to look like a little bit of everything. My best guess is a Stiletto or Snipe Fly. Help appreciated.

Whoops, see comments on the other shot. You already had it.

I'll take a stab at it.
This is a robber fly, Diogmites neoternatus. I used the guide specifically, this picture:

If it's wrong, someone well let you know.

Thanks, Gerry
I did see that image before. I think I got snipe mixed up with robber somehow. Too many flies. :) Looks like a good match to me.
