Diogmites
This is Diogmites neoternatus. One of the Hanging-thief robber flies which is currently locally common in shaded woods and their borders in the east. The bright, and relatively unmarked abdomen and the slight contraction of the abdomen in the first few segments is distinctive for this robbber. Fine shot.

Thank You
I am emmbarrassed to say how many orders I looked at before making it to Diptera. Then I actually had it and got confused. Very distinctive. I doubt I will ever forget this one.
