Size: ~13 mm
All black bee with smoky dark wings. Family Apidae, female.

Female carpenter bee.
This is a female bee in the genus Xylocopa, no doubt Xylocopa tabaniformis (though I don't know the subspecies down there, mabye X. t. orpifex?). Dr. Ascher will know:-)
