Bee - Apis mellifera

Bee - Apis mellifera
Sand Springs, Osage County, Oklahoma, USA
January 31, 2009
Size: 6mm (1/4")
Saw a couple of these flying around. I detained this one then let it go after the pics. Something I thought was interesting in the third pic is it licked the container and, through pure luck, I managed to take the pic just as it did. It appears the tongue is forked, sort of like a snake's tongue.

Please help with ID.

Any apiarist's handbook would envy these outstanding pics. The "fork" at the apex of the labium are the vestigial paraglossae.
