Ellychnia flavicollis - Ellychnia flavicollis - male

Ellychnia flavicollis - Ellychnia flavicollis - Male
Lincoln National Forest, Otero County, New Mexico, USA
April 28, 2006
Size: 10 mm
Ellychnia flavicollis LeConte
Most Ellychnias have a lot of black on the pronotum, but here is an exception. I am using Fender's 1970, Northwest Science, 44, pg 31-43. This covers the western species. I frequently get these flavicollis at UV light in the southern mountains.
