Barcoded?
Are you saying this was barcoded? What's the ID number? Or are you saying the other one was barcoded?

Its was sequenced by BOLD

E. arctostaphylana - Submission Error?
I think this is E. arctostaphylana and that there may have been a submission error to BOLD.

The page for sequence GMLC012-09 has an image of a live specimen, same image as the one linked to the one above, and a very different image of a spread specimen. I can't image both being of the same individual. The live image closely matches your image shown for sequence GMLC070-09 identified as E. arctostaphylana.

The spread image, however, looks nearly identical to your first of two spread specimens of E. kasloana shown at MPG here. Your images at GMLC082-09, photo 241078 at BugGuide, and GMLC130-09 in the same BIN, AAI5369, match the CalPhotos images of kasloana at MPG.

The specimens in the BIN for kasloana, AAE1192, are in a branch in the barcode tree for Epinotia which includes BIN AAI5369 and BIN AAP8676, the BIN for lomonana. I see you have specimens in BIN AAE1192 as well. The phenotype shown in BIN AAE1192 is different from that shown in AAI5369. I suspect that what we are calling kasloana may be two related species.

Please check the page for sequence GMLC012-09. If you agree that the images are of different individual and that the barcode is for the spread specimen and not the live one, I think you can move this to arctostaphylana.

Edit - this is a mess. I now think that BIN AAE1192 refers to signiferana and that AAI5369 may be true kasloana. BIN AAE1192, with nearly all specimens identified as signiferana, would appear to be the BIN for columbia.

BOLD BINs
Michael Sabourin and Richard Brown agree that BIN AAE1192 is signiferana, BIN AAI5369 is kasloana and BIN AAF0407 is likely columbia. I see now that BIN AAE1754 together with AAF0407 are probably columbia which was described with two varieties. I made a typo with regard to columbia in the Edit above so just disregard that.

E. arctostaphylana - Submission Error?
I agree that this is E. arctostaphylana, and that the photo of the live specimen at BOLD is incorrect. I have uploaded the correct live photo to the Specimen Page for 2008GM-0012 at BOLD. But I am not able to delete the incorrect image. I sent email to BOLD to ask them to delete the incorrect image. I'll go ahead and move this to E. arctostaphylana.

Edit - BOLD has removed the incorrect image.
