Found it in a field. Butterflies, grasshoppers, crickets, dragonflies, this place was ALIVE! Man, it was so peaceful. Also there were monarchs, white-tails, hundreds of other insects!

Well, a couple of reasons. One is that assorted photos tend to pile up under the general headings, and create a clutter that becomes hard to sort through to find what you are looking for. Much easier and better if filed under the individual species headings. Also, even though there are a fair number of photos already for this species, yours is a welcome addition, because it adds a new state to the database, and helps to document how this (variable) butterfly looks in at least one more area where it is found. Your photo is perhaps a little dark, but it is not a bad one, actually rather nice I think; so, it didn't seem to warrent "frassing" - at least in my opinion. Of course if you don't want the photo left on BugGuide, you can delete its page if you choose.

Oh I also meant to comment that it sounds like it was a great day to visit a great spot. It seems there are fewer and fewer.

ok
i understand what you're saying.
