Tiphiidae: Brachycistidinae
After working with many nocturnal tiphiids, I am certain this is not a Chyphotes. It is one of the more slender species of Brachycistis.

Moved from Chyphotes.

Any more sightings, Robert?
This is a very bizarre specimen!

Bradynobaenidae: Chyphotes sp., male
This is a nocturnal wasp male in the genus Chyphotes.

Species identification requires a microscope, and usually examination of the genitalia just to be sure!

This is a strange one though, if you see any more, could you hang on to them for me?

Chyphotes sp
I'll try to remember this March to watch for them. email me to remind me! Thanks for the info on them.
