Radcliffe's Dagger Moth - Acronicta radcliffei

Radcliffe's Dagger Moth - Acronicta radcliffei
Dividing Creek, Cumberland County, New Jersey, USA
the top two views of this larva were unidentifiable on Aronia arbutifolia (Red Chokeberry). They were reared and amazingly transformed into the two views on the bottom, mature Acronicta radcliffei larvae. I found mature larva on Prunus serotina (Black Cherry) in Arkansas. the late instar is amazingly similar to Datana sp., but much smaller.

Series
I agree with Chuck, these images would be more valuable if posted as a series and linked as same individual. They would show the caterpillar at a larger size and you could add the dates and measures to each. Nice life series!

Please post as separate images
It would be better to post them as individual images, with images of the same individual linked together. If you're not familiar with linking, I'd be happy to explain further.

To connect images of multiple individuals that shouldn't be linked to each other, you can reference other BugGuide images in the remarks section by using the Thumb tag: [Image#]. Using this image, which is number 253188, as an example:
[Thumb:253188]

While insets for details or views of the same individual that wouldn't work on their own are ok, multiple individuals should have multiple images so data and commenting can be specific to the individual.

Also, the system shrinks any image larger than 560 pixels on the longest side down to 560 pixels (in this case your 500- x 800-pixel image shows on the page as 350 x 560). While you and the editors can click on the image to see it at full resolution, nobody else can.

It would be nice to have data such as date and size, too.

This is not intended as a criticism, but a request or suggestion- your contributions are otherwise excellent.
