Sweetflag Spreadwing in New Brunswick - Lestes forcipatus - male

Sweetflag Spreadwing in New Brunswick - Lestes forcipatus - Male
Pelerin, Kent County, New Brunswick, Canada
July 14, 2006
Although there is always the possibility that this is a Lestes disjunctus australis, this subspecies has not yet been definitely recorded in the Canadian Maritimes (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island) and I have included a shot of the cerci/paraprocts, as well as the full size photo. The specimen you see here was collected and keys out to L forcipatus as well and is now in the New Brunswick Museum.
