Male Spider - Bathyphantes brevipes - male

Male Spider - Bathyphantes brevipes - Male
Puyallup, Pierce County, Washington, USA
February 18, 2009
Size: around 8 mm
I'm thinking this is a Pimoa. Maybe altioculata, curvata or haden. I would have expected more banding on the legs for P. altioculata, but I don't know what the other two look like. I'm sending this image to Rod for his expert opinion.

Moved from Bathyphantes. ID by Rod Crawford.

Moved
Moved from Pimoa. Well, at first it did look like Pimoa, then I sent in the enlarged palp shots. It turns out it doesn't fit they eye arrangement or palp for Pimoa. Rod thinks it might be Bathyphantes sp. maybe B. brevipes

Good call.
Good call, Lynette, I'll be curious if Rod agrees with us:-) Nice images as always.
