A male Brachymeria. It lacks
A male Brachymeria. It lacks the distinct petiole found in Conura spp., and the robust thorax is typical of this genus. I don't think I've every seen one so pretty. Great pictures

Conura (xanthostigma group)
After checking specimens with species ID's in our collection, this is closest to Conura lecta (Cresson), but given that there are many species in Conura that I don't have material for, it would be safer to place it in the Conura xanthostigma species group. It's definitely not Brachymeria. The petiole is hidden from view, but the elongate hind coxae are obvious, and the color pattern is something only seen in Conura (Spilochalcis).
