Prionus laticollis - male

Prionus laticollis - Male
Nashua, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
July 20, 2005
Size: 26 mm
Looks like all the images of this species so far are female. Well, here is a male that came to my UV lights for awhile. I don't think the females can fly, which might be one reason they are found more often, just sitting around displaying for a male to notice when he flys by. The same night I even had a Brown Prionid come for 10-20 seconds.
