Metallic Wood-borer - Ptosima gibbicollis
McMinnville, Warren County, Tennessee, USA
May 24, 2005
Size: 5.0-8.0 mm
This buprestids common name is the redbud borer. This specimen was found wondering around a redbud leaf, which they can be found feeding frequently. Only four species of this genus is know to occur north of Mexico.

Moved to guide
Pretty beetle. I wrote a guide and moved the photo there. Unfortunately there is no field for author in the taxonomic system--perhaps that should be added. I noted author of the species (Say) in the guide page for the species.
