Do you want the ventral view photo?
We understand this is an undescribed species. We've been going through our beetle photos over the past few days and found a photo of the underside of this individual that I will upload if you tell me how to do it. Thanks! Kim

Not a Glyptasida
This is an undescribed
Stenomorpha
species that I hope to get to in the next year or so. It does look similar to
Philolithus
(
Glyptasida
)
aegra
dorsally, but is very different otherwise.

Thanks!
This makes the beetle even more interesting. Looking forward to your description.

Glyptasida aegra -
The genus has been reviewed and redescribed by Lockwood & Pollock (2009, see reference on
INFO
page). Only three valid species now, two of which occur in the USA (
aegra
in NM and TX, and the more widely distributed
sordida
), the third one,
rugosissima
, in Mexico.
Also has been recorded from Brewster County, including Big Bend N.P.
