Flea Marsh Beetle - Ora texana

Flea Marsh Beetle - Ora texana
Mobile (Dog River), Mobile County, Alabama, USA
October 13, 2008
Size: 4-5mm
This beetle reminds me of an airplane in a 30's cartoon. I imagine it's one of the shining flower beetles with possibly its wings poking out of elytra. Any other ideas?

feel pretty good about it
Moved from Flea Marsh Beetles.

It is
Ora sp. (Scirtidae)

Another place to look
is in this section of the Scirtids.

I would start in
Alticini (Flea Beetles), but I'm no expert.
