The under wings have a distinctive red mark close to the head.

A small Fulgoridae.

Seems to have a short upturned head
as in Scolops, . It's a tough angle, but we'll keep looking. Suppose it could be a Fulgorid such as Amycle, too, but at 3/4 inch, there shouldn't be too many options!

Thanks for the identity. It seems to have many of the characteristics. I thought that the red marking on the inside wings might give a big clue. Is this a bug I should welcome into my garden?
