Size: ~1cm
Scale insect on tree branch. I didn't notice the exit wounds until I downloaded the photo.

Parasitoids
Could be one of at least four families of chalcids. I think that's about all that can be said without examining their exuviae, which should be inside.

Thanks Charley, that's a far better ID than I thought would be possible. I probably won't go back out and extract the excuviae, but that's good to know for next time.
