fly - Phaonia - female

fly - Phaonia - Female
New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada
March 8, 2009
Size: 1 cm head to wingtip
Found at window indoors. I also thought Anthomyiidae, but I'll put it here for now, esp after following the diptera.info link with this.

I decided to add this image of same individual because it has a good view of what would seem to be the famous "Phaonia Bristle" ("strong posterodorsal seta on apical third of hind tibia") as discussed and pointed out on diptera.info threads such as this one.
