Beetle - Zonitis sayi

Beetle - Zonitis sayi
west of Alamosa, Conoje County, Colorado, USA
July 14, 2005

Probably Zonitis sayi Wickham
John Pinto det.
His comment: "This image doesn't allow separation from the similar Z. dunniana, but Z. sayi is more common in Colorado."

Moved from Zonitis.

Thanks Margarethe
It looks like your pictures.

Could also be Zonitis

Nemognatha lutea?
Looks like a Meloid beetle. Nemognatha lutea? I find same here in Colorado Springs on Grindelia squarrosa - Gumweed.

Thanks Adalbert
It's nice to get an ID from someone that lives where this beetle was found. I tried to find a picture online, but there wasn't anything, so I was wondering how sure are you of the ID. Should I move it to a new page?

Reminds us of

It's a match
Besides looking the same, it's on a similar flower, and found in Colorado also. Thanks.

what about
what about Nemognatha cribraria. google it and you'll find images of a blister beetle that looks just like this guy, but there's no guide page for that species yet.

It looks just like the one
on this site, but the one on this site looks different. It may very well be N. cribraria, so hopefully someone that knows these beetles can let us know for sure. Kadyn, thanks for the info.
