Valentine, B.D. (1961). New Synonymy in Nearctic Anthribidae. The Coleopterists' Bulletin, 15(2): 33-35.

A recent trip to the United States National Museum in Washington gave me the opportunity to study the type specimens of North American Anthrihidae deposited there. This collection contains holotypes of all anthribids described by Charles Schaeffer and W. Dwight Pierce (except Toxolopis sextuberculatus Schaeffer). Examination of the type material there has revealed that four of the species described by Pierce are synonyms of previously described forms.

On the different entomological expeditions made during the last four years to Texas, Utah and Arizona in the interest of the Brook- lyn Museum, a comparatively large number of new species of Anthribidse were taken. The family is exceedingly well represented in Brownsville, Texas, if we take in consideration the small number of species occurring within the limits of the United States. From this interesting seraitropical region twenty-one species are known, of which seven are new.

Pierce, W.D. (1909). Studies of North American weevils. Proceedings of the United States National Museum, 37(1708): 325-364.

While in Washington during the winter of 1908-9 it was my pleasure, through the courtesy of Dr. L. O. Howard and Mr. E. A. Schwarz, to study the collections of weevils in the U.S. National Museum. The following notes present the records of all determined specimens in the collections of North American weevils as they are at present arranged in those groups preceding
