Xylocopa virginica texana Cresson, 1872

Life Cycle
commonly forages on milkweed (Asclepias spp., Asclepiadaceae) per BG data.
Remarks
most carpenter bees only the males have the blond hair while the females have black hair. In this species, both males and females have blond hair. (Karen Wright, pers. comm. to MAQ, 2017)
