West Ina Rd, Tucson, Pima County, Arizona, USA
March 13, 2009
Size: 2.5mm

Trigonorhinus riddelliae (Schaeffer 1906)
Moved from Trigonorhinus.
Barry Valentine det. His comment: "The Arizona Trigonorhinus was named riddelliae by Schaeffer, 1906. Based on the female ovipositor, I have considered it a subspecies of T. griseus (Leconte) described from Colorado, but have no proof that they are actually conspecific."

Anthribidae
. . . funny habitat!

In the company of lots of Bruchinae
I don't know where he thought the fungus would be?

these don't care much about fungi
pls see genus info page

Trigonorhinus, i suppose
i'll ask Barry Valentine, he loves them; quote: "Trigs. are, for me, special. I did my M.S. thesis on them, and their fascination remains." (pers. comm.)
