Size
Length 5.6-6.4 mm (1)
Identification

Black with two large red spots oriented towards the front and sides (unlike Chilocorus); may have white marking on head (var. texanum), or a narrow yellow margin.
Helmet-shaped: highly convex with a broadly flared "rim"
Venter mostly black with red thorax; sometimes with red edges around a medial black area on the abdomen (var. texanum)

OR-CA-LA-OK (barely nw LA) - Map (cross hatching) (2)(3) - Note: The map for Axion in Gordon 1985 (fig. 506) is mislabeled, A. plagiatum is the western species.
