sorry
I just learned how to do that the other day.

Aquarius (likely remigis)
Assuming size is correct, Gerris is generally smaller.

Hi
My husband said about an inch I was including the legs .
silly

I wonder
if this is in the genus of Gerris? Looks very similar.

.
A type of "pond skater" yes, they are a type of true bug. As a kid I thought they were spiders too and was quite surprised that some can even fly.

Some can Fly??
When I was shooting this bug, he was quite mad and upset at me. He jumped out of the water at me camera .I went through the roof. =]

Dear Kathleen
please do not post any pictures besides the ones of the insects that you would like to have identified. It distracts. You can give a webside address together with your profile if you go under 'your acount'.

Sorry
I Just learned how to do that. I just got excited
