This is definitely a Philonthus species. My best guess is P. as*per or P. seri*cinus, but I would need to see some additional shots to choose. Ideally a close-up of the dorsal abdomen is needed.

With the new photo, I can say this is Philonthus asper (the head is elongate and rounded after the eyes).
