Madera Canyon, Super Trail 134, Santa Cruz County, Arizona, USA

Size: Variable
Not sure which family of beetles was responsible for this meandering etching (maybe the "router" beetle?), but the patterns and texture of such galleries is truly artistic. A bark beetle gallery (or roughly half of one) is visible at the very bottom. I encourage other folks to take images of these insect "signs." I imaged this with a Canon PowerShot SD1000 (Elph).
