Nephus ornatus in New Brunswick - Nephus ornatus

Nephus ornatus in New Brunswick - Nephus ornatus
New Brunswick, Canada
Size: 1.8 mm
This is a species often found in bogs in our region, but apparently relatively widespread

Moved
Moved from Ornate Lady Beetle.

Clearly this was a mistake/typo, when under Nephaspis. I found no evidence that ornatus was ever under that genus.

Thanks for the move Tim!
I am sorry i did not pick it up either, as I had the right reference material to correct it but did not do enough background...Cheers!

Nephus ornatus ornatus (LeConte)
Note: the correct name for this species is Nephus ornatus ornatus (LeConte). It is not placed in the genus Nephaspis.

Moved - new genus - excellent!
Moved from Ladybird Beetles.

My pleasure!
According to local experts, this species is relatively easy to net in sweeps, so i will be trying hard for this one in the next 6-8 weeks and trying to find adults alive for more natural poses soon.
