mayfly larva - Rhithrogena impersonata

mayfly larva - Rhithrogena impersonata
Dixville, Coos County, New Hampshire, USA
March 24, 2009
Size: ~5mm

Moved
Moved from Rhithrogena.

Thanks Lloyd
I'll have to go back in a month or two and get more mature larvae.

Probably...
an immature Rhithrogena (possibly impersonata), based on the three tails and the enlarged gills. Due to their transparency I had a hard time making out the outline of the gills at first, but the edges can be seen in the lower right of the photo.

Based
on the markings of the forefemora, and the fact that I have picked this one up also in the past month in northern NH, I would agree with R. impersonata.
